Earlier this year, our director of liturgy and music Chris Ángel wrote an article for GIA Quarterly. In his article, “Improvising the Weekend,” Chris talked about what he learned from his experience as an improviser and how he used that in his career in church music. While he wrote for his fellow musicians and liturgists, Chris believes anyone can benefit from some of the ideas of improvisation. As he writes, “We are all improvisers. No one wakes up with a script that will tell them exactly how their day will go.”
We have had requests to share his article, and through the kind permission of Chris and GIA we are now able to share it here: READ ARTICLE.
