Plastic or Paper?
If your answer is typically paper, or if you’re at the checkout and realize your reusable bags are still in your car, The Open Door Food Pantry can put your paper grocery bags to use! They’ve recently increased the number of clients served to over 400/week, which equates to over 2,000 paper bags of groceries given out. Bags can be left with the food donations in the storage nook by the South entrance (where the chair carts are stored) or dropped off at The Open Door.
Please place stacks of bags into another bag so they are neat and easy to store and transport. Thank you!
NEW
OPEN DOOR PANTRY
Come tour The Open Door’s new home!
The Open Door food pantry moved into a new facility in January of 2023. The new location is much larger than the previous facility, which allows them to meet the growing need for food support and to serve more families that are dealing with food insecurity.
St. Thomas Becket has become a critical partner to The Open Door with our monthly food drives, monetary support, fresh produce from the STB Giving Gardens, and the many STB members who volunteer at The Open Door. As a show of appreciation for our partnership, Executive Director Jason Viana has offered to give an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour to any STB members who would like to see the new facility and operation.
Whether you are an existing TOD (The Open Door) volunteer, a prospective volunteer, or just curious to see The Open Door’s new home, all are welcome! Please join us.
