Members of St. Thomas Becket have sponsored five families from Ukraine since early 2023. They had come to the US under a program called United for Ukraine, which allowed them to leave their war-torn country and settle here. They have all successfully faced the challenges of coming to a new country and have each contributed to their communities. They are now at risk of losing their legal standing due to potential changes in their refugee status.
Please join us on Sunday, June 7th between the Sunday Masses for a brief overview of the current and foreseeable future for our Ukrainian friends. We will hear from the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota to provide a summary of the current status and possible changes. There will also be brief testimonials from some of our immigrant families. Pre-printed postcards will be available for your signature requesting policy actions by our US Senators and House Representatives.
